Vulnerability Assessment (VA)
Always in compliance with the principle of accountability, the role of cyber security experts becomes increasingly essential to have protection from possible, but increasingly frequent, cyber threats.
And it is precisely through the Vulnerability Assessment (VA) activity that the vulnerabilities present in IT infrastructures belonging to an IT network are analysed, with the primary aim of evaluating and highlighting the possible implications relating to system security. This contributes to making IT infrastructures less exposed to possible external attacks and consequent personal data breaches.
The VA activity includes a first phase in which vulnerabilities are identified by means of a scanning software which, in the second phase, will be categorized by type, with an assignment of the degree of severity. This practice constitutes a clear preventive application of the accountability principle by the Data Controller, planning and implementing the safety of its systems, intervening immediately in the event of greater damage.
